Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkey held a business meeting on 9 September 2019 and B2B with the business community of Uzbekistan and Turkey.
The goal is to discuss issues of further expanding cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, transport, communication and information technology spheres.
The Turkish delegation included the heads of leading companies involved in construction, healthcare, tourism, and ICT.
The head of the delegation emphasized that the Turkish side considers Uzbekistan as a key partner in the region and is interested in further expanding fruitful cooperation. Particularly noted are the impressive rates of economic growth in Uzbekistan, which lay a good foundation for the development of business contacts.
The main objectives of the visit of the delegation of Turkish business circles are the joint consideration of potential opportunities and the identification of specific promising areas of trade and economic cooperation.
During the meeting, presentations were made of the economic potential of the two countries, the possibilities of implementing specific investment projects, and proposals for the development of cooperation between small businesses and private entrepreneurship in the field of trade, transport and logistics.
Between business circles of the two countries in the B2B format, over 50 business entities of our country took part.
The main topics of the negotiations were the development of transport and logistics cooperation, projects in the field of chemical industry, information technology and several other areas. The prospects for further development of the Uzbek-Turkish trade and economic cooperation were discussed, including an exchange of views on enhancing partnerships between enterprises of Uzbekistan and Turkey.
In January-May 2019, trade between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey increased by 17.5% compared to the same period in 2018 and reached to US$953.2 million.
On 10-11 September, the delegation will visit the city of Urgench to familiarize themselves with the investment potential of Khorezm region.
