Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Agency for Information and Mass Communications held a press conference on the holding of the Global Textile Days Tashkent 2019 international forum.
This Forum is designed to contribute to the fulfillment of the tasks identified in the Presidential resolution “On Measures to Further Deepen Reforms and Expand the Export Potential of Textile and Sewing and Knitting Industry” from 12 February 2019.
The chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association, Ilkhom Khaydarov, drew the attention of those present to the fact that if in 2000 the first cotton conference was held in Uzbekistan, then this year an international textile conference will be held. This is evidence that Uzbekistan has turned from an exporter of raw materials into a real supplier of high value-added products.
“Our industry is fully focused on external supplies. At the end of 2018, exports exceeded one billion six hundred million dollars. And we are confident that this year this figure will reach two billion,” Ilkhom Khaydarov said. — Such progress did not go unnoticed, therefore the International Cotton Advisory Committee (headquarters in Washington) agreed to hold the next, 8th meeting in Tashkent. The event will bring together scientific experts and specialists from leading cotton-producing countries of the world: USA, Australia, China, India, Pakistan, etc., who will share their experience in this field. And we hope that thanks to the data obtained, we will be able to implement new promising developments. «
